Urban Legend: Insanity ensues

Who I Am.....

I'm a high school teacher who wonders if she is sane most days. I love my job and my kids everyday, so the doubt is worth it. But the reality is.....I talk to teenagers all day. Most of whom see me as a parent-figure. And I'm wading my way through being a role-model when I'm still trying to find my own way. So I feel inadequate everyday. I started writing because I was reading and felt like a voyeur. It's hard for me to say what I feel, especially when I forever feel the need to edit. But at the end of the day, it's nice to know I'm not the only crazy one.

Insanity ensues

This is what makes me happy.

This is how I feel today.

This is what I will look like at the end of the school year. (But less pretty and more frazzled).

This year is so not last year. These kids are trying me. I know I'm different too, which is the biggest problem. The old me probably would have dealt with all this a lot better. But all I have is me-now, so I have to find a way to turn this around somehow. There are some good moments, but way too many completely frustrating ones.

I like lists. Who knows why because I'm the least organized person ever (expect in my classroom, that is on point). But my lists right now aren't adding up, they don't balance each other out. Not cool. So I will make more lists on what I need to change and work on. I'll enjoy the list-making part at least.
